Manager - Grange

Mikaela has worked within an early years nursery since 2007 and has recently achieved Early Years Teachers status, making her a fully qualified teacher. In her own words, “Working in early years is very rewarding, enjoyable and profoundly important. I love my job and look forward to going to work every day. There is no other career choice, which will provide you with as many smiles during the working day as the one I have caring for your children".

She has a real love for learning, a passion that she is determined to share with all children. Further education has been an enjoyable part of her role at Stepping Stones and her enthusiasm to seeing the nursery group grow as the knowledge and passion of the team grows is evident in her dual roles as the Grange Setting Manager and Quality Improvement Manager

Rebecca Sigley

Grange - Deputy Manager

Rebecca qualified at level 6 holding a BA (Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies. She qualified in 2014 and focuses her knowledge and experiences on raising standards and quality of practices in early years learning.

Rebecca was appointed Deputy Manager within the Grange setting in mid-2015 and she has nine years childcare experience working within a variety of childcare settings. These settings have seen her appointed to senior roles including Behaviour Management Co-ordinator and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

Since 2006 Rebecca has worked extensively with all age groups from babies to preschool children, having had the responsibility of supporting and developing up to 66 children and helping to support the team around her.

Sheena Baskerville Sheena

SEN - Grange

Mum of three Sheena has worked with early years since 2001 and is currently the supervisor in the 2-3s room and qualified to a level 5 after completing her foundation degree in early childhood studies in 2013. As well as being a practitioner Sheena is also a mum of 3 children so it is obvious she loves being around children.

For Sheena the best part of working with children is “seeing the positive impact our setting has on the children in our care, and watching them grow and develop”.

As Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) Sheena is responsible for the day-to-day operations for the nursery’s SEN's and Inclusion policy ensuring that children with Special Educational Needs are fully included in learning and development. She supports and advises Key Workers as appropriate, in how to best meet individual children’s needs.

Rebecca Clowes Grange

SAFE Guarding Officer - Grange

Rebecca works in the pre-school room as the room supervisor and she currently holds a level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Studies. Rebecca takes pride in her job and gets great satisfaction from just being a part of the Stepping Stones team but also a part of your child's development that enables them to gain wider knowledge in all areas of their development.

Rebecca has worked in childcare since 2005 and in her own words “each day I look forward to learning something new as I plan, observe and watch all our children develop and grow”.

Rebecca is the Safeguarding officer for Stepping Stones Grange setting. She is the ‘go to’ person if at any time you have a concern about a child’s wellbeing. Feel free to contact Rebecca at any time.

Broom Setting

Manager - Broom

Sarah has worked at Stepping Stones Broom setting since 2012. As a very valued member of the team, her professional qualifications include NNEB Diploma Level 3 in children's care, learning and development, Safeguarding at Level 1 and not forgetting  Level 3 First Aid

Sarah is the Manager at the Broom setting and just like all of the Stepping Stones Group managers, this entails supporting the day to day running of the nursery, ensuring all policies and procedures are rigorously followed and ensuring the staff are working at the top of their game to ensure the children in their care have the best experience possible.

Sarah is a very hard working team member and in her own words "I am passionate about my role and I really enjoy my job". Sarah's hobbies/interests are going to the gym and spending time with her family.

Amy Trethowen Broom Nursery
Amy Trethowen

Deputy Manager - Broom

Amy has worked at the Stepping Stones Group since 2011. Her qualifications include BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in child care, learning and development, Level 3 in First Aid, Safeguarding at Level 1. Amy has also attended many training events regarding phonics and autism and brings a lot of knowledge of these areas to the nursery.

Amy is currently the Deputy Manager/Pre-School manager at our Broom setting She is also the lead in Special Educational Needs (SEN) supporting children, parents and staff.

Amy is another hard working member of the team and in her own words "I'm a happy, caring nursery practitioner and very passionate about my role". Her hobbies/interests outside of work are Dr Who, fishing and photography.

Deputy Manager - Weston

Emma is a great multi-tasker, which is extremely important in a very busy pre-school room of 60+ children. Emma joined Stepping Stones Weston from the age of 18 and as an apprentice worked towards her Level 2. Since then she transferred as a nursery nurse and worked hard and attained her Level 3. Once qualified Emma became a supervisor and is now deputy manager at Weston whilst working towards her Level 4 qualifications. Emma absolutely loves her job and takes great joy in seeing the children under her care develop from baby room age to school and finds the interaction with the families a bonus.

Natalie Abrams


Natalie is the Early Years Foundation teacher and SENCO at Little Steps. She has worked with children for many years in a variety of different settings.

She enjoys being creative and 'messy play' is her favourite part of the day. Her philosophy is that creating, motivating and engaging activities will encourage learning and development.  In her free time Natalie has a love for sport and painting.

Ali Baines

Deputy Manager

Ali has a level 3 diploma in Early Years and Education. She has worked in nurseries and schools since 1999. 

Ali has had extensive experience with speech and language development during her many years within the early years environment.  In her spare time, Ali enjoy cooking, travelling and spending time outdoors.
